BITES is the flagship summit of BlackInTechBerlin, a social impact organization founded in Berlin in 2019 by Kave Bulambo. What started as a mission to support Black professionals in Germany's tech industry has grown into a year-round community and network, and BITES is where that community comes together at scale, once a year, to connect, showcase, and build.

— The Gap
Talent isn't the problem. Access is.
Black professionals are underrepresented at every level of European tech, not because the talent isn't there, but because the rooms where hiring, funding, and leadership decisions get made have never been built with access in mind.
And for the Black professionals already inside these companies, being the only one in the room, in a company, in a city, sometimes in an entire industry, is its own quiet barrier to growth and retention. BITES exists to close both gaps at once: opening the door, and making sure the people who walk through it aren't walking through alone.
